Hi class! My name is Wanqin Jiang, you can call me Iris! I am currently a 4th-year Health Information Science student at the University of Victoria.
Before my undergraduate study, I am originally from Suzhou, China, living and studying there until 2019, which is the year I came to Canada for university. I have 2 dogs at my China home, one is an 8 years old golden retriever, and another is a 12 years old Samoyed. I like dogs since they always offer company and happiness to me. For my personal hobby, I am crazy about fashion, photography, travelling, and romantic movies. During my high school, I organized the shooting, writed a script and acted as one of the main characters for a romantic microfilm, and gained the Best Photography Award from the school video challenge competition.
The EDCI 338 this year is my second time learning EDCI-related courses. I completed EDCI 339 in the summer term and found myself very interested in the content that uses technology and social media to conduct interactive learning. We also made engaging projects such as building and designing our own learning moodle and portal, and creating own course content. So, I decided to continue my journey in EDCI and chose EDCI 338 this term. I like the ways that we can design our own WordPress site, create and share insightful blogs with classmates. And I hope I could enjoy and dive more into the social media based learning in EDCI 338 this term!
